How to Refresh a Web Page using the Selenium Module in Python

Python

In this article, we show how to refresh a web page using the Selenium module in Python.

So the selenium module in Python is a very dynamic and useful module when working with web browsers such as Firefox or Chrome.

Using the selenium module, we can open up a browser, go to any URL we need to go to, and do things such as enter text into text boxes, submit forms, and refresh a web page.

To refresh a web page using the selenium module in Python, we use the refresh() function.

This is shown in the code below.

The refresh() will refresh the web page, acting just like the refresh button of a web browser or clicking the 'F5' button on your keyboard.

We will go over a full code below in which we open up the Firefox web browser, go to youtube's home page, and then refresh the page, so that we can see new videos on the page with the refresh.

So we open the Firefox web browser and go to the youtube home page.

Note the videos being shown on youtube's page upon its initial load.

After refreshing the page with the line, browser.refresh(), note that the page refreshes and you see different videos now loaded on the page.

So the refresh() function works just like the refresh button of a web browser.
