What is a Kilowatt Hour (KWh)?
A Kilowatt Hour (KWh) is the number of kilowatts of power used per hour.
For example, if you consume 8 kilowatts of power in a hour, that is equal to 8 kilowatt hours.
A kilowatt hour is an important unit quantity because most electric utility
companies charge by kilowatts of energy used per hour, or kilowatt-hours. So
if you use, for example, 7 kilowatts of energy in an hour and your electric utility company
charges 14 cents per kilowatt-hour, you will be charged $0.98 ($0.14x7KW) for that time of
energy usage.
