What is a Transducer?
A transducer is a device that converts energy from one form to another. For example, a transducer may take electrical energy and convert it into mechanical energy.
These are just a few examples of transducers that are out there. There are many more. It shows how devices can take a certain energy input and convert it into another.
Examples:
Microphone-A microphone is a transducer that takes sound energy and converts it
into electrical energy.
It takes some type of sound as its input and converts it into electrical pulses or signals.
Speaker-A speaker is a transducer that takes electrical energy and converts it into sound
energy.
The pattern of electrical pulses that goes through the speaker comes out
proportionally as sound.
Motor- A motor is a transducer that takes electrical energy and converts it into mechanical
energy. It is fed a voltage and converts that voltage into a mechanical movement. An example
of a motor is a servo motor, which turns or spins in response to electrical energy.
