What is the Rated Power of a Relay?
The Rated Power of a Relay is the power that a relay can handle without being damaged or destroyed.
A relay's voltage and current use should be carefully monitored and calculated so that
the power used does not exceed the power rating of the relay. This can be calculated by V x I (voltage x current).
Thus, if a relay is rated by 60W and it is operating with 2 amperes, no more than 30 volts should be dropped
across the relay.
